WE HAVE A WIRELESS SOLUTION

The world has adapted the wired data transmission code with biometric attendance & access control systems but wireless technology is promising.

Wireless technology has a common place in most of our lives in some or the other form. The most common of it is the wireless internet connections or the Wi-Fi that we use at our homes, offices etc. There are many services which can be used with wireless technology but we are focusing on the biometric attendance and access control systems which too have the provision for wireless data transfer and people are rapidly moving towards it. Let’s put some light on what is a wireless solution and how it can be used.
Wireless communication also known as “over the air” is an electromagnetic transfer of information between the time attendance system and the server. There are two types of wireless connection available in a machine:
  • GPRS (SIM card) Connection: biometric machines with SIM card slot offer a different yet useful alternative for a wireless transmission. An active SIM card with internet connection can provide the data instantaneously. The most profitable part of GPRS connection is that it hardly undergoes any fluctuation or downtime scenarios. On the other hand a compact machine with in-built battery can travel at any part of the office.

  • Wi-Fi Connection: wireless internet provided to a Wi-Fi enabled time attendance and access control machine works in a similar manner. What different it does is it works with the Wi-Fi internet signals provided at the workplace. This option too assists in seamless and quick data transmission.

Both the options undoubtedly support the Internet of Things (IoT) and the data can travel to any of the desired systems and can be stored in cloud servers as well. With the ongoing condition to avert physical contact publicly due to COVID-19, the wireless technology has now emerged as an unavoidable yet fruitful feature with the biometric attendance and access control machines.
