To
keep a watch and identify the suspicious people and miscreants who
can breach national security, the Delhi Police has started using
facial recognition technology to identify habitual protesters and
doubtful creatures.
While this technique is already been used by Chennai and Punjab police to investigate crime and gather intelligence on a real-time basis, the Ministry of Home Affairs has proposed for a nationwide Automated Facial Recognition System (AFRS).
